Motorcycle Accidents in Alabama
Studies have found that the state of Alabama is the tenth most dangerous state in the entire country for motorcycles. Although our state requires riders to wear helmets while operating their vehicles, we continue to see them harmed at an alarming rate in collisions.
Motorcycles are often much smaller than other vehicles sharing the road. This makes them more difficult for other motorists to see. This is particularly true in cases where riders are traveling on dark roadways, in inclement weather, and near negligent and reckless drivers.
Some of the most common causes of motorcycle crashes that we see in Alabama include:
- Failing to yield the right of way
- Blindspot crashes
- Drivers changing lanes in a reckless manner
- Speeding
- Running red lights/passing stop signs
- Drunk driving
- Road hazards
- Distracted drivers
Victims who are harmed in motorcycle accidents often have to go through extensive medical care. Enduring towering financial consequences in crashes caused by reckless and negligent motorists is an all too true reality.
