Mobile, AL (April 29, 2022) – An auto accident reported in the Mobile area claimed one man’s life early Friday morning, April 29. At around 5:40 a.m., the Mobile Police Department was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 65.
Reports provided by authorities show that a series of three separate collisions occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 65 in the area between Airport Boulevard and Dauphin Street.
After the initial collision, one of the involved vehicles fled the scene. A passenger in the second vehicle exited the vehicle for unknown reasons. The passenger, a 26-year-old man, was struck by a second vehicle.
After being struck, a third accident occurred as vehicles attempted to avoid striking debris.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
