Going to Court

One thing we always try to make clear to our clients is that filing a lawsuit doesn’t mean you’re automatically heading to trial. In fact, the majority of cases filed get resolved before they ever make it to a courtroom. Often, we have to file a suit simply because the insurance company isn’t offering a fair settlement—and our clients deserve better. But even once a lawsuit is filed, there are still many steps in the legal process where a case can settle without ever having to go before a judge or jury.

Unfortunately, not all law firms handle things the same way. Some attorneys never go to court at all. If they can’t get the case settled, they’ll hand it off to another attorney—someone you’ve never met and didn’t hire. That’s not how we do things at Clay, Massey and Associates. If you’re not happy with the offer, no matter what we recommend, we’re in it with you. Our clients are the ones who decide whether to take a case to court, and when they do, they can count on us to be the ones standing beside them—every step of the way.
