Baldwin, AL (July 7, 2022) – A young boy suffered injuries following a drowning incident reported near Gravine Island in Baldwin County on Monday afternoon. On July 4, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency was dispatched to the scene of a drowning incident at Gravine Island.
Reports provided by ALEA show that a 4-year-old boy became unresponsive while swimming near Gravine Island on Monday afternoon. Emergency crews responded to the site of the incident after the ALEA Marine Police were flagged down by a family member.
The young child was rendered aid at the scene and transported by EMS from North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette to a local hospital for further treatment of injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
